Celebrate a Stellar 2016 by giving generously to Generations United, Inc.

Give today and your gift will be matched!

It’s been a great year!  For over 8 years Generations United, Inc. has been engaged in reaching out to families in Redwood City.  To continue supporting families we need your support.  This year through a generous matching gift challenge, you have an opportunity to double your impact.  Every dollar you give this season will be matched 2:1!  Your gift to Generations United, Inc. before the end of January will allow us to continue offering hope to the most vulnerable in Redwood City.  This means more children will experience the joy of reading through Redwood City Reads, more children will join us for Taekwondo and Ballet classes, more parents can engage in fitness and nutrition programs, more backpacks will be distributed and list goes on and on! We are excited to partner with so many in realizing a transformed and empowered community together!  2016 has been a challenging year on many fronts for our families but we believe that our work is making a difference!  Join us today!

RWCR7.12015.1Redwood City Reads – Join us as we read with children in local Redwood City schools. Flexible schedules available.  We are seeing such great progress and know that the 1/1 love and focused attention is key to this success.

Backpack Drive 1,000 students received backpacks loaded with school supplies to ensure a successful launch of school.  The joy on the faces of those parents who struggle to just put food on the table or pay their rent is worth the hard work puttingthis together annually.  We are so grateful for wonderful partners.

Ballet – In partnership with American Academy of Ballet to teach Latina ballerinas to dance.  This takes place weekly with 2 capable ballerinas who have trained at the Academy.  We will take our dancers to the Nutcracker again in December http://www.americanballet.com/

Taekwondo – Henry Villar of Victory Taekwondo is an amazing husband, Father and business executive.  Henry continues to work with 25 students at Fair Oaks School.  He focuses on modeling discipline, self control and fitness with these students.  Check out his link on his website:  http://victorytaekwondo.org/fair-oaks/

Mother’s Day Mural – Equinix, a Redwood City company joined us to create an amazing mural on campus.  It was such an exciting endeavor as we had some unsolicited PR!

Thanksgiving Meal – Last week we served 300+ people at our annual Fair Oaks Thanksgiving dinner.  It was an incredible opportunity to serve a community that has been in fear with the recent political developments.  Imagine what it must be like when they are already working endless hours and have extended pressures on their lives due to rising housing costs.  We were so grateful to honor them in this small way.  It was a beautiful sight to behold.
