In 2021, Generations United helped the county of San Mateo identify Latino business owners who could use support during the COVID-19 shutdown. We identified 26 business owners who received $360,000 to keep their businesses open during the pandemic. Two additional business classes followed that included sales and marketing, web design/presence, and social media. In February of 2023, we launched Business 101 classes.
Empowering Entrepreneurs in North Fair Oaks
Business owners develop a plan that includes financial direction from basic accounting to identifying additional funding opportunities.
With the help of seasoned marketing experts, participants learn about social media, web presence, printed materials, and more.
Executing the Plan
Launching a business can involve licensing, permits, and securing insurance. Business owners navigate these themes and more.
Graduation & Mentorship
Participants who successfully complete the course are part of an elite group of professionals who go on to achieve success in business. They have opportunities to apply for grants as well as align with a mentor to support their venture.
We have partnered with Renaissance Entrepreneurship Center to offer these classes. Instructors from Marketea facilitate each power-packed session.
