Summer Camp 2020

Summer usually means fun in Redwood City and North Fair Oaks, but not necessarily for everyone. Generations United is committed to providing safe spaces where the fun of learning can continue, even after the school year ends. This year, the COVID-19 pandemic has changed the way we do summer camp. Thanks to a partnership with the City of Redwood City, we will be holding small group (pod) camps for students in July. Each week will have a morning and afternoon session in order to accommodate more students throughout the duration of the camp.
For many children, June through August can become a “summer slump” that can actually erase the academic skills they gained throughout the year. Therefore, Generations United keeps their Academic Enrichment Centers open, providing one of the few places in the area for kids to keep learning alive, catch up on needed skills, and strengthen literacy by reading one-on-one with Redwood City Reads volunteers.
